Should you wish to explore the area, you will find many attractions that are only minutes away.

Independence Grove Libertyville
Our facility is just moments away from the Independence Grove Forest Preserve, which offers miles of bicycle and walking trails as well as water activities including boating and fishing. Centered around a 115-acre lake, this preserve offers a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation and nature education. Surrounding prairie and woodlands provide a picturesque backdrop for hiking, biking, picnicking and other fun activities. There is a full marina, a visitor’s center, and numerous picnic tables for all to enjoy. Access to the preserve is free for Lake County, IL residents and $5 per car for non-residents.
Des Plaines River Trail
The Des Plaines River Trail and Greenway covers 2,846 acres and protects land along more than 85 percent of the river in Lake County, providing wildlife habitat, natural flood protection and outdoor recreation opportunities. The trail currently stretches 31 miles and connects preserves with local parks and communities as it winds through the Greenway from just south of the Illinois-Wisconsin border to Deerfield. Bridges and underpasses make it possible to travel without crossing any major roads.
Independence Grove Dog Exercise Area

Winnie and Daisy, the dogs of Palladia Farm, highly recommend the nearby Independence Grove Dog Exercise Area. Named ”Best Dog Park” by North Shore magazine, this special place is one of four designated areas in the Lake County Forest Preserves where dogs can run and play off-leash. These 30-acres are exclusively for the enjoyment of your dogs and features fields, wooded areas, and a large pond. It is fenced on three sides with access to the Des Plaines River Trail. The dog park is located approximately 5 minutes away from the farm by car.
